Here’s a little story.
I was expecting a friend over and looked around, finding, my kitchen was a complete mess. We were planning on baking that day, so, I did a quick clean and spritz.
My friend came over, entered the kitchen, and said, “What have you been doing? Your kitchen smells like Pickles.”
Here enters, my one stop cleaner of choice: White Vinegar.
Cheap, strong, easy (how many of us like our dates!).
The thing is, it smells a bit. I’ve gotten used to the waft of vinegar that lingers long after cleaning-time, and though it does dissipate…I thought it would be fun to get a little fancy-crafty with it.
By fancy…I mean cheap and easy.
Here’s another story:
I was eating an orange the other day and decided to put it in my vinegar/water mixture (1:1 + orange peel). Sliced it up all thin-like, put it in the bottle, (making sure the rinds were covered with liquid) and set it under the sink for a week or so.
And, here we are, smelly-orange vinegar scented cleaner.
To be honest, I think lemon would have been a lovelier choice. I fear my kitchen might simply smell like funny oranges. But, now we know.
